Why an Intex Airbed is Perfect for Road Trips

*Intex has sponsored this post and giveaway and provided a product sample. As always, opinions are 100% our own.

Our family loves taking road trips. It doesn’t matter where we go, but typically we like to visit somewhere new. Every trip we realize there’s a product out there that would make our lives easier while on the road. Recently we discovered Intex airbeds and asked ourselves, why we didn’t know about this product sooner?

Intex airbeds are not your traditional airbeds. Intex, the number one source for inflatable products makes a bed that’s built to last. We tried the Dura-Beam airbed and were surprised by how comfortable the bed feels when you sleep on it. This bed is 100% more durable, 35% more supportive, and 15% lighter than a traditional airbed. How? It’s made of Fiber-Tech material instead of traditional material, meaning more strength and support when sleeping.

It can be difficult traveling with families, but an Intex airbed is the perfect road trip companion. - Kids Are A Trip

Why an Intex Airbed is Perfect for Road Trips

1. It’s easy to transport

The bed itself is fairly compact. It could fit inside a suitcase, but it comes with its own bag for carrying. This makes it easy to bring in and out of the car. We packed it on a recent road trip and were surprised, by how little space it needed.

2. It’s easy to inflate

The Intex airbed has a built-in pump that allows you to quickly inflate and deflate the bed. It takes less than three minutes from start to finish to get the bed ready. Throw on some sheets and pillows and it is ready for those tired kids. The bed was so easy my kids could do it themselves when we went to our friend’s house. You can watch the video here.

3. It’s comfortable

Let’s be honest, most air mattresses are not the most comfortable things in the world. The air moves from place to place and it’s difficult to keep them inflated. Thankfully with the plush dual air pillow top system of the Intex Airbed, that doesn’t happen. As soon as the bed was inflated, our kids couldn’t wait to try it out. They gave it rave reviews and asked if they could sleep on it for the rest of vacation. Unfortunately, I have three kids and the bed only sleeps two, so there was some arguing about who was lucky enough to sleep in the bed.

I’m going to confirm the comfort factor. I ended up taking a nap on the bed one afternoon and I swear it is the most comfortable air mattress I’ve ever seen. Next time we go camping, I’m taking this with me and not sharing!

4. It’s tall like an actual mattress

When inflated, the bed is 60 x 80 x 22 inches high. A typical queen size mattress is 60 x 80 and when you add a box spring, it raises it about 8-9”. A frame adds another 7”. We inflated the mattress next to a traditional queen mattress and there was barely any height difference.

You can see the bed is barely lower than the queen size bed on a frame.

5. No more sleeping on floors or couches

I can’t even begin to count the number of times our kids have slept on uncomfortable pull out couches, floors with couch pillows, and even multiple kids to a single bed. With an Intex airbed in our repertoire there’s no need to do this ever again. The kids were delighted with their sleeping experience in the airbed and they can’t wait to get it home just so they can inflate it and use it again.
