Alexandra Resort Turks and Caicos: a Laid Back Grace Bay All-Inclusive Resort
With an average of 350 days of sunshine each year, the Turks and Caicos islands draw discerning sunseekers from all over the world. A major draw is the stunning white sand and turquoise waters at Grace Bay Beach, which is consistently rated as one of the top beaches in the world. Nestled at the center of Grace Bay, you’ll find the Alexandra Resort Turks and Caicos, an all-inclusive, laid-back luxury experience for all types of travelers.

The Alexandra Resort Turks And Caicos
During my stay, I had the chance to tour several newly renovated rooms at the Alexandra Resort Turks and Caicos, including the stunning Deluxe 4-bedroom Oceanfront Penthouse Suite. The renovations are beautiful, and what stood out most to me was how this Grace Bay resort was perfect for all types of travelers.
Even at 74% capacity, it didn’t feel busy or overwhelming. I saw couples on their honeymoon, a family with teenagers playing pool volleyball, parents traveling with young children and grandparents, and everyone felt right at home.
I point this out because it is a contrast to some of the other nearby adult-only resorts, which can be too sleepy or too much of a party, and large family resorts, which can feel overwhelming.
As Goldilocks says, the Alexandra was just perfect for me! The icing on the cake is that when staying at the Alexandra Resort Turks and Caicos, you have full all-inclusive access to Blue Haven Resort for even more dining, lounging, and additional watersports.
One added perk is that kids 12 and under stay, play, and eat for free at both of these Turks and Caicos Collection properties. Once here, they can participate in the Fun Pals kid’s club and daily activities, allowing you to get in some quiet time and even a trip to the Elevate Spa.
4 Reasons To Stay At The Alexandra Resort Turks And Caicos
If you are looking for a relaxing getaway on Grace Bay, the Alexandra Resort is a great option. With 160 total studios and suites, it’s large enough to offer a variety of dining options and activities but small enough to make you feel valued.
I was impressed by how the staff often greeted guests by name and never looked rushed or overwhelmed. Likewise, I never had to fight for a pool or beach chair or wait in line to grab a meal.
Before jumping into the room renovations and dining options, let’s explore some of the top reasons why you would most likely love the Alexandra Resort Turks and Caicos!
1. Top Location On Grace Bay Beach
When it comes to location, it simply doesn’t get any better than this! Grace Bay on Providenciales is consistently ranked as one of the top beaches in the world, earning the top spot from Trip Advisor for three of the last nine years!
Turks and Caicos is a place you go to enjoy the beautiful beaches and the warm turquoise waters. It’s not a travel destination that requires you to build an itinerary full of tours and attractions. So, resist that temptation! The beach is the attraction, which is why staying on beautiful Grace Bay is so desirable.
In addition to Alexandra’s prime Grace Bay location, it’s a short 15-20 minute car ride from the airport and within walking distance to the island’s big Thursday Night Fish Fry at Stubbs Diamond Plaza in the Bight. You don’t even need to rent a car because the resort has a free shuttle to take you over to the Blue Haven resort, where you have access to their amenities!
2. Two All-Inclusive Resorts For The Price Of One
Blue Haven Resort is the sister property of the Alexandra, and both are part of the Turks and Caicos Collection. When staying at one, you have full all-inclusive access to the other property. So, double the pools, double the activities, and double the dining!
During my recent trip to Turks and Caicos, we spent a full day at Blue Haven Resort, which is the more upscale of the two. Blue Haven also has a full marina that just underwent an exciting expansion, with even more future improvements on the horizon.
Blue Haven Resort’s location across from Mangrove Cay makes it perfect for more adventurous watersports and some add-on excursions. We booked a clear kayak tour into the mangroves and encountered dozens of sea turtles. It was something I’ll never forget and an activity I highly recommend for your trip!
We finished our day at Fire & Ice Restaurant, enjoying live steel drum music and delicious food. If you go, don’t miss the Lump Crabmeat & Avocado Salad with mango, scotch bonnet pepper, and a tomato carpaccio.
3. Recent Alexandra Resort Renovations
This year and next, the Alexandra Resort is undergoing some impressive renovations. Guest rooms are being fully redone in a modern, light, and airy aesthetic, and extra amenities are being added.
When browsing rooms at the Alexandra Resort Turks and Caicos, all the renovated rooms are marked as Deluxe, making it easy to ensure you are getting a renovated room.
Sometimes, as a traveler, it can be scary to hear that a hotel is undergoing renovations because often that means more noise and inconvenience. However, the Alexandra closed for several weeks while doing these renovations, and they plan to do the same as they complete the remaining buildings.
4. Laid Back Vibes & Friendly People
Earlier this year, we stayed at a large Caribbean all-inclusive, where I honestly felt stressed most of the time. While the property had a lot to offer that I did enjoy, the early morning fighting for pool chairs and lining up hours in advance for some dining options (full of upsells) really spoiled it for me.
I found it truly refreshing to have the more luxurious all-inclusive experience at the Alexandra Resort and Blue Haven Resort without it feeling overwhelming. That said, both resorts are still laid back, making them exactly what I am looking for when planning family trips that I want to enjoy, too!
The staff at both properties was top-notch! On our first evening at the Alexandra, we got to experience the Tuesday evening Manager’s Cocktail Hour, where I met and mingled with hotel staff while sipping on some nice red wine. The energy was contagious as they introduced all the managers to the guests, celebrating their hard work and pride in the property!
Rooms At Alexandra Resort Turks And Caicos
Whether you are traveling as a couple or with your entire extended family, Alexandra Resort has the perfect room for everyone. From a garden studio room to a large beachfront four-bedroom penthouse that sleeps ten, the recently renovated rooms at the Alexandra are modern yet light and airy.
Rooms are fully equipped with everything you need, and I appreciated having a washer and dryer in my Deluxe Studio Room at the Alexandra Resort. We travel often and rarely do we find that amenity in a room that sleeps just two. The gift shop sells laundry detergent, and I did a load on my last day to ensure I wasn’t bringing wet clothes home.
Studio Rooms
The Alexandra Resort’s Studio Rooms are perfect for solo travelers or couples. They all have King beds and either a small balcony or patio. The standard and deluxe studio rooms are 450 sq feet, or you can opt for a larger partial ocean view studio at 617 sq feet. When selecting your room, you can choose from a garden view, partial ocean view, or ocean view room.
Here is a look at my first-floor garden-view Deluxe Studio Room at the Alexandra Resort. As you can see, the sleeping area was light and airy, with lots of natural light and blackout curtains for rest. The small kitchenette was a nice bonus, with a mini fridge stocked with complimentary beverages and room for personal items.
Suites
If you are traveling with a family or multiple families, you will love the one-, two-, and four-bedroom suites. Many are beachfront and have options to connect adjoining rooms for even more space.
There are a variety of layouts, each offering garden views or full or partial ocean views. The Deluxe suites have been renovated with beautiful hardwoods throughout and a crisp, modern look.
What impressed me the most about the suites were all the bathrooms! Traveling with teenagers now, I have grown to appreciate having more than one bathroom on our family trips.
During our room tour, I noticed that even the one-bedroom suites had two bathrooms. Furthermore, the spacious 1400+ sq foot two-bedroom suites, which sleep four to six people, had two and a half bathrooms. I felt like Oprah shouting, “You get a bathroom. You get a bathroom. And you get a bathroom!”
Dining At Alexandra Resort Turks And Caicos
With access to all-inclusive dining at both of these Turks and Caicos Resorts, you won’t run out of great dining options while staying at the Alexandra Resort. Most restaurants are open daily. However, upon arrival, you will want to check the weekly schedule to verify exactly what days each restaurant will be open during your stay.
You can easily view the Turks and Caicos Collection dine-around page to see the dining options and menus for each. I was very impressed with the dining for an all-inclusive. Even the drink selection was top-notch!
In addition to the main restaurants, both resorts have coolers where you can grab and go 24 hours a day. Both also offer coffee shops, and I loved the cute smoothie bar at the Alexandra Resort!
During the day, you can enjoy casual meals with jerk chicken at Irie Bites and lunch or dinner at Truck Stop, and then opt for a more upscale dinner at Black Rock or Fire & Ice.
The Alexandra Resort’s dining options are more robust, with roughly two breakfast options, four lunch/snack options, and five dinner options. At Blue Haven, there are two options for breakfast and lunch, and three most days for dinner.
TIP: You will want to make reservations at Black Rock, Fish Deck, Dragon Orchid, and Fire & Ice.
For cocktails, Alexandra Resort has both pool and beach bars, as well as the Coconut Bar and Fish Deck Bar. Blue Haven has the Infused 360 Bar open nightly and the Seaside Pool Bar open during the day.
I really liked the new outdoor lounge area, complete with string lights, located near the bar at Blue Haven. It was relaxing to sit by the fire beneath the lights in the evening.
Activities
Upon check-in, I was surprised to see such a robust event schedule, especially for a random week in mid-November. Add to that the pool, beach, and non-motorized water sports at both hotels, and you really have no reason to leave the resort unless you want to.
As a mom, I appreciated that this is not a large and spread-out property. Most everything at both resorts was close by, allowing you to get from your room to any destination within just a few minutes. This makes it easy to keep tabs on children and relax a bit as you stroll past the vibrant Bougainvillea throughout the property.
Soak Up The Sun Poolside or Beachfront
Any Turks and Caicos itinerary should include ample time lounging poolside or enjoying the beautiful Grace Bay beach. The Alexandra Resort had plenty of comfortable pool and beach chairs. During our tour, the manager even added that they have extra pool chairs that they bring out when the resort is nearing capacity.
While you enjoy the pool at the Alexandra Resort, your children can play on the small playground just steps away. Or your family can take part in a big game of tic-tac-toe or ping-pong. I felt something nostalgic there in that little courtyard area, imagining my childhood trips, screen-free and carefree. The meaningfulness of those slow and small moments is not lost on me!
Non-Motorized Water Sports
One of my favorite beach vacation activities is taking out a Hobie Cat sailboat! So, I was very happy to see these included at the Alexandra Resort. We had a chance to go out on one and cruise the warm, blue waters of Grace Bay.
In addition to sailing, guests at the Alexandra Resort can use kayaks, an ocean trampoline, stand-up paddle boards, and snorkeling gear. If you walk about 15 minutes along the beach, you can access the Bight Reef right off the shore!
The paddling and snorkel gear are also included at the Blue Haven Resort. There, you can also enjoy several add-on activities, such as SUP Yoga, jet skis, guided clear kayak tours, fishing, and more. The Blue Haven Marina offers even more options! So, you definitely won’t run out of things to do on the water.
Guests at the Alexandra Resort can also borrow bikes in both children’s and adult sizes. One popular place to ride them is the nearby shopping area on Grace Bay Road. If you are looking for a change of pace, there are also several restaurants and lounges in that area.
Fun Events & Music
In addition to all the above, there are also daily events, so make sure to grab a schedule when you check in to the Alexandra Resort Turks and Caicos. The scheduled events will vary week to week based on the current makeup of guests, with more kid-friendly activities during the major school breaks. I was impressed with everything they had going on! The week I was there, they offered a wide range of daily activities, such as:
- trivia
- karaoke
- live music
- movies nights
- beach volleyball
- family beach games
- dance classes
- island instruments
- glow parties
- name that tune
- marshmallow roasting
The beauty is that these activities are all located right on the property, just a short walk from your room. They are casual and don’t generally require pre-registration, perfect for anyone looking for a relaxed, go-with-the-flow beach vacation!
Alexandra Resort: A Laid Back Luxury Grace Bay All-Inclusive
If you can’t tell, I really enjoyed my stay at the Alexandra Resort in Turks and Caicos. Sure, there are larger and more extravagant resorts on Grace Bay. Likewise, there are also smaller ultra-luxury experiences, typically at a higher price. But, for everyone in the middle looking for a nice, relaxing, all-inclusive beach vacation on Grace Bay, the Alexandra Resort is a wonderful option for all types of vacationers who want an escape from the day-to-day grind.
The location on Grace Bay Beach can’t be beaten, and the newly renovated rooms at the Alexandra Resort are the icing on the cake!
And, to top it off is the hospitality. On our first night, we had dinner with two of the managers following the Manager’s Cocktail. A couple stopped by our table as they were leaving to tell one of the managers how much they had enjoyed their stay, noting their travels to resorts all around the Caribbean.
They praised the staff and raved about the dining, and I couldn’t help but smile because they didn’t have to take the time to stop by. But they did, and that says more than I ever can!
