The Castle Cottage is a hidden jewel in a private setting, just 3 minutes from downtown Bolton Landing with the conveniences of a supermarket, restaurants, shops, beaches, and more. Come with a large group, and you can rent out the entire complex.
4. Portuguese Castle in Santa Marta de Portuzelo, Portugal
Just forty minutes outside of Porto, you will find the majestic Santa Marta de Portuzelo Castle, a Manueline-style house that has elements from the 12th to the 19th centuries. The place is massive at over 20,000 square feet, spread out over two floors and a tower.
There are nine bedrooms for guests, each with an en-suite bathroom, and two of them have fireplaces. Spacious is an understatement as there are three living rooms, two dining rooms, a huge kitchen, and a chapel. Good luck not getting lost!
The estate’s gardens cover 4.2 acres and feature a Manuelino-style watchtower, a dovecote, a swimming pool, and a 16th-century fountain.
