Below I’ve put together a list of what I think are the 11 best Scottsdale resorts for families based on my experiences with my own family.
1. Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch
Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch is an excellent destination for families looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway in Scottsdale. The resort offers a wide range of amenities and activities suitable for all ages, including multiple swimming pools, a heavenly spa, a fitness center, tennis courts, and a golf course.
The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, and we recommend getting one with an outdoor fire pit. Staff will come nightly to turn it on and off and it adds to the resort’s ambiance.
There are three restaurants on-site serving Southwestern, Italian, and Asian cuisine. Night owls will enjoy the live entertainment in the main lobby after the kids are in bed.
Families will love the hotel’s 10 swimming pools, complete with a 3-story water slide, man-made sand beach, and waterfalls.
Overall, Hyatt Gainey Ranch is a perfect family-friendly destination for a memorable family vacation in Scottsdale.

Of course one of the main reasons kids will love this Scottsdale resort is its waterpark. Adventure Waterpark has a lazy river, Kierland FlowRider flow-board simulator, a splash pad, and a toddler pool. Your kids might never want to leave!

Four Season’s Kids for All Seasons program is for ages 5 to 12. It’s a complimentary kids club that runs from 9 AM to 5 PM daily. While you relax by the pool, your littles will go on nature walks and even field trips to the Phoenix Zoo!

The massive multi-tier pool area has communal pools, a kids’ zone with splash pads, a water slide, a playground, and an adults-only pool as well.
Nearby, the activity center is an indoor game room with video games, a half basketball court, and more. If you’re interested in outdoor activities, the concierge can tell you about guided hikes and cycling tours of Old Town. The terracotta art deco hotel opens up to an outdoor pool surrounded by lounge chairs and umbrellas. There’s a Jacuzzi tub, as well.
You can have breakfast delivered daily and for lunch and dinner, try Agave Bar & Grill. This is an American-style restaurant with patio seating, pool tables, and a full kids’ menu. For coffee lovers, there’s a Starbucks onsite, as well.

The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch is well-known for its family-friendly amenities. This AAA Four-Diamond Scottsdale Resort is centrally located to Scottsdale attractions. The property has two swimming pools with serviced cabanas and a spa and it’s adjacent to McCormick Ranch Golf Club.
Rooms are very spacious and families can enjoy delicious meals at Kitchen West or grab snacks at the Twisted Vine Pool Bar. Note: The property was sold in 2022 and is currently undergoing renovations. We recommend checking with the resort before booking if you have any concerns.

11. The McCormick Scottsdale
The McCormick Scottsdale is a lakefront hotel resort that makes a wonderful base for exploring Scottsdale. The beautiful property is a great choice for families who want to take it easy and try out a few fun activities.
Take in the mountain views from the pool area. Kids can enjoy pool toys while you soak in the heated pool. There are walking trails along the water and throughout the manicured gardens.
Play a round at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club where the hotel makes its home. There are also tennis courts and sand volleyball courts.
There’s also a sandy beach at Camelback Lake where you can jump in a kayak or canoe, or go fishing on the lake, too.
At the resort, you’ll find the ambiance-rich Piñon Grill, a Southwestern-style restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There’s also a bar and lounge that serves small bites, and a poolside bar for a day of relaxation.
