Last month we decided to take a surprise family vacation to celebrate my husband’s new job, and we considered many different destinations. Each one was tropical, each was luxurious, and every single one was an all-inclusive resort, except in the end, we decided to go to Puerto Rico where there are not many all-inclusive options. While we did have a wonderful vacation, my husband and I decided that our next vacation will absolutely be to an all-inclusive resort. The reason: EVERYTHING is included. From the meals to the drinks, to the kids clubs and adult activities, there is something for everyone and I’m not constantly opening my wallet to hand out payment and tips for each and every service. In my mind, this is a win-win for families and couples alike.
I have done my research when it comes to all-inclusive resorts because I am a planner and I don’t readily give up control of my vacations plans. All-inclusive resorts vary from place to place, so you have to know what you want out of your vacation. Do you want a place that offers relaxation or constant activity? One that will entertain your family or provide a romantic escape for you and your spouse? The most important part of course is to know your budget because the last thing you want to do on vacation is break the bank!
After we considered all of these factors, my husband and myself are convinced that our next vacation will be to an all-inclusive resort for the following reasons:
1) We don’t have to plan what we are going to eat
Our youngest child has a food allergy and that is stressful when we travel. We often rent an apartment so we can cook our own meals. Thankfully, most all-inclusive resorts are willing to work with guests ahead of time and make sure allergies can be accommodated, taking away the constant worry. When we visit restaurants on vacation, we constantly have to seek out restaurants that are “allergy friendly”, but if we stay at an all-inclusive we can address everything ahead of time with staff to make sure they are aware of our issues. We also prevent my husband from having a heart attack every time he has to open his wallet and pay the bill. Definitely a win win in my book!
2) The kids will have plenty of entertainment
Our kids hate this, but when we travel out of the country we never let them bring their electronics. They rarely complain, but at an all-inclusive I know they wouldn’t have time to think about boredom because there is always something for them to do! Whether they are playing volleyball in the sand, riding bikes, swimming in the pool, or hitting tennis balls, they will always have plenty of options to keep them busy and on the go. The resorts also do a wonderful job of organizing activities for the kids so that’s one less thing I have to worry about!
3) We can relax and enjoy the destination
I have to admit, the thought of everything being organized and planned by someone else does appeal to me. Meals prepared and scheduled, activities available at all times, and no surprises to our budget because we know the costs before we even leave our house. An all-inclusive resort allows us to leave our worries at home and truly relax and enjoy our vacation. Now that I think of it, why haven’t we done this before?
I’m not sure if our next vacation will be as a family or a couples trip for my husband and myself, but what I do know is that an all-inclusive would really take our vacation experience to the next level. Recently, Hyatt opened 2 resorts in Mexico that offers a new type of All-Inclusive vacation – Hyatt Ziva for families and Hyatt Zilara for adults. Right now they are offering you a chance to win a stay at one of these luxurious new resorts.
Have you ever been to an all-inclusive resort and would you go again?
