Maybe it’s a deep seeded connection to my Irish ancestors or a simple love of Ireland. Whatever the case may be, I love to read books about the land of the leprechauns and share them with my children. In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, here are some of our favorite books that inspire travel to Ireland.
Who doesn’t need tips for taking better action shots? No matter how hard I try to capture the perfect shot, it always seems to result in a blurred image of what used to be my child when I look at the image on the monitor. I’ve tried all the different settings and still struggle to capture those moments in time. Thankfully, Bethany Cleg of Bethany Cleg Photography reached out to me and offered to help with some great advice.
Today I have asked Erin from South to Southwest to guest post on my blog, and she is sharing “8 Reasons to Escape to Bora Bora.” I know I usually share family travels on this site, but we all need some time alone with our significant others, and in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I thought this would be the perfect post. Erin’s husband planned their honeymoon as a surprise, so she didn’t find out where they were going until the final leg of the journey. How amazing is that? She was so excited to find out that they were going to Bora Bora, French Polynesia. It was the trip of a lifetime, and if you haven’t been yet, well … it’s time… [Read More]
Social media is more accessible than ever, and our phones are always within easy reach, but it’s not always easy to make your travel photos amazing. I find myself constantly snapping pictures on my phone, editing, filtering, sending, sharing, you name it, it’s so easy these days. Here are some tips for creating some amazing… [Read More]

Please forgive any rambling or misspellings, my brain is only functioning at half capacity. This summer flew by (as they all do) and I can hardly believe Labor Day is this weekend. Our family enjoyed every bit of the Chicago summer, passing time at over 100 little league games (not joking), visiting the zoo, catching fireflies, celebrating birthdays, eating our way through the state fair, and playing with our puppy. We made the most of our time in the sun.
A Visit to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and How to Navigate Fast Pass+ The night before we leave, everyone can’t sleep. They are crazy excited to see the mouse. Well not really, they’re more excited to see their grandparents and escape from Chicago’s horrible weather. Sadly, our children have reached that age where the allure of Disney characters is no longer their cup of tea, and now their focus is entirely upon the rides. We set our alarm for 3:30 a.m. and everyone is super chatty and excited as we make our way to the airport and onto the plane. We always try to make them rest, but for some reason (adrenaline maybe?), it never works. Thankfully we aren’t… [Read More]
