The Travel and Adventure Show is getting ready to kick off its tour across the country, and while it’s a great place for adults, it can be fun for kids as well. On January 21st and 22nd, families won’t want to miss the Chicago Travel and Adventure Show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Family entertainment may be difficult to find during the winter, but the Travel and Adventure show will captivate parents and children of all ages.
If you’re visiting Chicago or live in the city or suburbs, I would highly recommend making time to visit the suburb of Rosemont. While tiny in population, the village certainly doesn’t lack for entertainment, restaurants, or shopping opportunities. Long popular as a convention destination, the village is celebrating its 60th anniversary so there will be a lot of excitement this year. Rosemont has an abundance of upscale hotels, the state-of-the art Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, the Allstate Arena, and the Rosemont Theatre. It is also home to the Fashion Outlets of Chicago and MB Financial Park, a one stop dining and entertainment center.
Every year, people head to the state fair to experience the rides, have fun as a family, and sample the deep fried food. When I recently read an article about the best state fairs in the country, Wisconsin’s was on the list. I have vivid memories of visiting the Arizona state fair with my parents when I was younger and I wanted my kids to have this experience. My husband was not a big fan when I proposed a trip to the fair, but he begrudgingly agreed to tag along when we visited last week. I think I won him over when I told him there would be Deep Fried Cookie Dough.
