The holidays are quickly approaching and if you’re like me, you still haven’t begun your shopping. We’ve shared our favorite gifts for women and some unique gifts for kids of all ages, so it only seems fair to share our favorite holiday gift ideas for guys. Hopefully you will find a few things to add to their list.
Life can be busy chasing after three boys and managing a business, so it’s helpful when I find technology that makes things a bit easier and helps me stay organized. Anker understands today’s busy families, which is why I’m partnering with them and Walmart on today’s sponsored post. All opinions are 100% my own and reflect my honest experiences with the product. Every night in our house it’s the same story, where’s a charger cord? No one can seem to keep track of their cord, and no one can seem to find one when they need it. Maybe it’s the same in your house. We’ve tried buying color coded cords and assigning one per child. I’ve begged them to leave… [Read More]
December is almost here and many kids have begun to make those holiday wish lists. Instead of settling for a boring gift card, clothing, or video game, why not try something different this year? Here are some of the newest cool holiday gift ideas for kids we’ve found this year.
Thanksgiving is coming and Black Friday is on its way, which means consumers are about to be inundated with gift guides galore. Try to have a game plan, set a budget and stick to it, because those January credit card bills can be traumatizing if you tend to get carried away (not that I’m speaking from experience or anything). I found so many amazing gift ideas this year, it’s hard to put them all in one post, so I’ll start with this one featuring holiday gifts for women who love travel.
As a child, one of our favorite family traditions was watching animated holiday specials on television. Every year my sister and I anxiously awaited the premiere of our all time holiday favorite, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”. You know the one I’m talking about, where Rudolph is left out of the reindeer games in Christmas-town. Imagine my delight when I found out Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical is coming to The Chicago Theatre!
A little over a year ago, I was introduced to MomAboard, an on-line trip planning service that produces customized itineraries for families for destinations around the world. Instead of parents wasting countless hours researching for a family trip, they can connect with a MomAboard Mombassador who will plan a personalized vacation based on their needs. I happen to be the Mombassador for Chicago, but on a recent trip to New York City, I decided to use a MomAboard trip planner to make our itinerary. Not only did it save us time, it was the best money I spent on the entire trip!
For months, I’ve been seeing these beautiful wood watches all over social media, but I didn’t really know much about them. Maybe you’ve seen them too. They are JORD Wood Watches, luxury, hand-crafted, all-natural wood stunners. I was lusting after them from afar when the unthinkable happened, I was asked to do a JORD wood watch review and giveaway. How could I say no to that?
When school begins, travel gets put on the back burner, but that doesn’t mean learning about destinations around the world ends. In the past, our family has made time for learning about different countries throughout the year. Each child would choose a country to research and we would head off to the library to find books and possibly movies to learn more. We would also search online for recipes and music and plan one meal representing the cuisine of that country. Our children really enjoyed this, but as our lives got busier, we stopped making time for this. When I saw the Try The World subscription box, I realized it was the perfect opportunity to rekindle this tradition.
Sometimes we discover a product we didn’t know we needed until it falls into our lap. You know the one I’m talking about. It’s the one you use all the time and wonder how you were able to function before it came into your life? A couple of months ago I discovered MyPhonePocket, an adhesive pocket that attaches to the back of your cell phone to hold your credit cards, cash, earbuds, whatever you need at that moment. After taking it on several trips, I’ve decided it’s the essential tool for anyone who loves travel. I use it at the gym, when I am running errands and don’t want to bring a purse, and when I travel. MyPhonePocket is the one travel item… [Read More]
As an educator, it is difficult to imagine a world where girls would be forbidden to attend school. Malala Yousafazi lived in the Swat Valley of Pakistan and her father, Ziauddin, ran a school near their home. He constantly faced threats from the Taliban, who insisted girls did not deserve an education and threatened those who continued to teach them. Her inspirational story was told in her book “I Am Malala”, and the story of her life before and after being attacked by the Taliban is told in the film “He Named Me Malala” premiering on National Geographic February 29th. The movie promises to be educational and an opportunity to start a dialogue with your own friends and family.
* This is a sponsored post written on behalf of Ghirardelli Chocolate and Josh Cellars as part of their #asweetpairing campaign. Of course all opinions are my own. Tired of trying to find the perfect restaurant for your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day? Why not skip the fancy restaurant and consider a Valentine’s Day picnic instead? Whether you want to arrange for a night away at a local hotel or simply snuggle by the fire after the kids are in bed, this easy to plan meal will have your significant other singing your praises.
For a long time I have heard about Little Passports, but I really didn’t know what it was. A couple of months ago I decided to do my research and find out what this subscription box is all about. Our family loves to travel and since our kids love learning about other cultures, I thought Little Passports might be a good fit for our family. After receiving the first box, I knew we found something special for my kids to look forward to every month.
