It is hard to believe our “See the USA” series has reached the letter Y, and the end is in sight. We are exploring the country as we make our way through the alphabet each and every week. This week brings us to Y, and instead of a city, we are going to feature a National Park. Victoria of Celebrate the Weekend is showcasing the beauty of Yosemite for us. If you missed last week we covered Xenia, Ohio and we had Waikoloa on the big island of Hawaii the week before. I haven’t been to many National Parks, but I was impressed by all the family friendly things to do in Yosemite!
San Diego is the perfect year round destination. Not only are there unique neighborhoods to explore throughout the county, but also world class attractions and dining. With 70 miles of coastline running along the Pacific Ocean and copious amounts of sunshine, it also has plenty of beaches for ocean loving families. Expedia.com asked me to share the best family beaches in San Diego, and after many years of visiting and living there, these are the ones we would recommend.
I hope you’re enjoying our “See the USA” series. Hopefully you caught the best of Key West last week and Jupiter, Florida the week before. We’re continuing on alphabetically with letter L and Los Angeles. I am thrilled to have the fabulous Karilyn from No Back Home sharing the top 5 family friendly things to do in Los Angeles. I haven’t been in years, but it was a frequent road trip destination when we lived in San Diego!
San Diego will always hold a special place in our heart. Not only was it our home for seven years, it was the birthplace of two of our children. We don’t visit as often as we should, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an amazing place to be right about now. Summer in San Diego can be one of the most fun times of the year, with the weather close to perfect, the kids out of school, and so many activities and events going on throughout the area. Many people think of heading straight to the beach in the summer, but we suggest you check out one of the best kid friendly summer activities in San Diego.
